Discovering old concepts presented in a new way brings me great joy. I heard of Ikigai, pronounced (ee-key-guy), a while back but didn't remember what it was about.
It's the Japanese ideal of how to live a happy life. Researchers found that ikigai is all about finding joy in life through purpose. In other words, your ikigai is what gets you up every morning and keeps you going.
The best way to describe it is visually. Ikigai is the intersection of various important aspects of your life.
When you research ikigai on the internet, it may sound like your professional life. But it doesn't have to be. Having a family, engaging in a hobby, volunteering for important causes all can lead to ikigai, too.
What if you don't know your ikigai? Start with where you are and what you're good at. Then, if you desire, work to monetize it. For some, trying to monetize their passion may take the natural joy out of the activity. But for others, it could lead to getting paid to do what you love.
For now, I'm following my bliss and pouring my heart and time into nurturing this community by bringing together those who want to grow their consistency and confidence, so they can achieve goals that are meaningful to them. In essence, we're here to support you in becoming a better u.
What is your ikigai? Tell us below! It's time for us to be bold and claim it!
